#NaPoWriMo 2015 no.5

photo of 'My Sweet Lord', a sculpture by Cosimo Cavallaro

after all, we are so very human...

just pass over your own thoughts of eggs, easter and
chocolate jesus(es)...

before constantine, we, in the growing monotheistic
civilizations of the west and near east, were thought to
still have access to our humanity's mystical powers...

we have outsourced our proofs of divinity ever since...

take for example, the shroud of Turin, a supposed burial
cloth for a gnostic who rebelled against the great powers of the
temple of Herod and the concrete dynastic chains of
Rome...

what of its claims to be muddy messianic imagery...

is it artful forgery or one man's cellular capitulation...

can the soul leave traces behind without having the mind
construct a vessel for its deliverance...?
