still eyeing the king of the modern human senses
we smelted
temptation's
raw pieces
selfish pieces
excesses, stowaways
carbuncle(d)
shouldn't haves
we wanted to see
the heart of each matter
we wanted to feel them feel
as we did
breathing and begging
our clenched desperate
dug in the sand
our bargaining of humanity
yoke fire
negotiations
journeying rain
for love
and reason
eyes are
always
a desert
at night
hunting
mercies
nose always
smiles this dark
flaring wide
and slow with
an ease
of sly
handled
heavy
knowledge
wearing
this crown
is not necessarily
saying
human beings
want to be ruled
with truth
in their minds
