poem 405 of a poem a day for 2012

bagatelle accelerando in B major

singing desiccation
leaves constantly
cascade through wind
raking tumbling fingers
deepening sounds
through each part
of this prairie
symphony prattle
each cohesive
fade in and
fade out
is the cold desert
of another year
dying while bleeding
waned and withered
over dusty keys
and spun salt
rung faster
and faster
around the trees
until the crescendo
of the rain
arrives
