we si you (poema oscar de la renta)

union O
animal spirit
what tears at me
does it tear at you
ideas of what flesh
is here for
why it is
why it is
we are an eye
to feel life
as alternating
hooliganism to
bare essentialism
to starved
with salvation

eternal
maternal
wolf winter dark to
egg shell membrane
(when is spring here)

edge western world
eastern world
new world
old world
all born as death
eventually

wrapped fine
to the nines
one last time

fabric lies, pelt felt
ode to the well
lid top pop stop spit
how about the being of it
wearing wares where wear fits
yes, the flow mother
beck and more
another traveling minstrel show
we had a go in the 13th century
southern Alps into the Po
heard from the pipers
dawn gaiters and Hamelin kids
who took to mountain gutted pleasures
and hard work, perching bits
heaven is always falling
falling from the sky
bright wide sunny days

every dress she wore told me another story
of how i would die charmed by the relative ease
with which words come into being
bitten and chewed off limbs
one at a time
i am
not Descartes
nor some satirical reasoning
i am
slow patina
an almost aware
a before
then gone
i am
intake
an exhale
and a reader's
heartbeat
a mind can be fettered
windy flits, tits, fantastical roles
costumed play, ways
we can get caught up
in a moment
ways we hold
how we consecrate
language
all our own
i guess at heart
this is the poem
why it is
why it is
we come
seeking salvation
embraceable humanity
we hold one another
a thought
to a now
and then to a this
next breath
our map less world

we were two souls
dancing the blues
the red hot betweens
i suppose depending on where
you are in the story
or the telling or re-telling
someone is always
coming and going
into and away from
being there for or
as you
